“Another Openin’ Another Show!” Kiss me, Kate kicked off our Inaugural season for our MATF
group. Bringing in fantastic actors such as Bobby Glenn Brown, Sara Parks and Tom Laitinen to name a
few. Under the musical direction of Lucas Wickstrom and Inspired by William Shakespeare’s play The
Taming of the Shrew, it tells the tale of formerly married musical theater actors Fred Graham (Brown)
and Lilli Vanessi (Parks) brought together to star opposite one another in the roles of Petruchio and
Katherine in a Broadway musical version of Shakespeare’s play.

A red cape, a strand of golden hair, a golden shoe, and a white cow. It’s these four items that
send a baker and his barren wife through the woods on a magical journey to reverse an evil spell in our
next musical, Into the Woods. They wish for a child and are sent by an evil witch on a scavenger hunt.
Little red riding hood, jack and the bean stalk, Rapunzel, and Cinderella soon join the mix on this magical
tale of love and adventure. Our fairytale was Directed by the talented Eliisa Herman and Music Director
Marcia Hicks with a cast including Leslie Parkkonen as the Witch, Asa Naigus as the Prince and Tom
Laitinen as Narrator among many others. Working with this cast and crew was definitely a magical

October brought us The Rocky Horror Show with Bobby Glenn Brown as Frankenfurter, Katie
Shaw as Janet Weiss and Laith Crow as Brad Majors. The story begins when one fateful night, Brad
Majors and his fiancée, Janet Weiss — a wholesome, well-behaved, utterly normal young couple in love
— innocently set out to visit an old professor. Unfortunately for them, this night out is destined to be
one they will never forget.  With audience interactions and dancing the time warp, this is a production
that Emily Martello (Director) and Lucas Wickstrom (Music Director) will leave us remembering for quite
some time, with an 80’s black light theme- how can you not have fun?!

Kicking off the new year, we jumped into our biggest production yet- Rent! Leslie Parkkonen
switched hats and took this production on as Director with Lucas Wickstrom as her Music Director. Eliisa
Herman (Mimi) Shane Vincent (Roger) Alex Herman (Mark) And Kees Gray ( Angel) rocked the house
with this romantic rock opera. It tells the story of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling
to survive and create in New York’s lower East Side in the thriving days of the Bohemian East Village,
under the shadow of AIDS.

In our final production of the season, meek flower shop assistant Seymour (Aidan Pietila) pines
for co-worker Audrey (Kendyl Dahlstrom). During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names
Audrey II (Bobby Glenn Brown), which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts
a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey’s boyfriend, Orin
(Asa Naigus), to the plant after Orin’s accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the
increasingly bloodthirsty plant. Kristen Halsey took the helm as Director with Kyle Hantz as her Musical
Director. Katie Shaw created a set to “die” for with multiple Audrey II’s and a grungy Skid Row that
made you feel like you were downtown with the cast.

We are beyond grateful for everyone’s support in the building of our community theatre and an
incredibly successful first season!
